Project Information
Several meetings were held with this customer, tailoring a project around
colours, Airbrush requirements, different options available for visual
layouts,
House of Kolor paint finishes and budgetary restraints.
The tank and rear guard had a large amount of fabrication work carried
out by the owner and wanting a clean foundation to start from, we began by
thoroughly cleaning and sanding all the panels removing any contamination
from the surfaces.
Due to the tank having been prep-sealed internally we could not use lead
to build up the repair areas. Rage Gold filler was used for this work,
and
performed well. Finishing with a fine grade filler prior to House of Kolor
Epoxy Primer being applied.
Once the panels had been Epoxy Primed and baked they were then left for
a week before being sanded and thoroughly cleaned prior to colour application.
This process started with House of Kolor Ko-Seal silver, Zenith Gold base,
Pale Gold Metajuls, Kandy Tangerine and finally House of Kolor Clearcoat.
Again after the bake cycle these panels were left several days before being
re-flatted ready for airbrush work to be carried out by my colleague Darren
Horton, once completed the final Clearcoat was applied.
A light polish and final inspection were carried out, before handing over to
the customer.
