Project Information
This particular Aston Martin came into us to have the bonnet and wings
repaired and painted due to stone chips and the bonnet being off colour.
After initially cleaning with panel wipe to remove road film and other
dirt,
all repair areas were sanded to eliminate chips and then masked ready
for Etch Primer and H S Surfacer application.
I revised the colour to give a cleaner/yellow tone, more in keeping with
the cars metalwork. The new formula was mixed and a spray card was
produced to check for colour reproduction prior to painting.
Wings and Bonnet were next prepared for colour coat, firstly sanding the
Surfacer then the rest of the panels to produce a good key for the paint to
adhere to.
Pictures show the Aston during the Basecoat and Clearcoat application
stages, also after the bake cycle allowing the panel surfaces to cool down
properly prior to polishing.
The next stage was to refit any items ready for valet and hand over to customer.
Compliant Waterborne Basecoat and HS Clearcoat are used on all paint work.
